Katy Perry's California Girls - We Like!!

The 'Hot n Cold' and 'I Kissed the Girl" singer, Katy Perry has released another single that will surely make us groove. The song is entitled "California Girls". 'California Girls' is now available for sale digitally worldwide.

According to Katy, "California Girls" is a response to Jay-Z's salute to New York, the "Empire State of mind".

"California Girls" also features Snopp Dogg and was produced by Max Martin/Dr. Luke.

GMA Is Going Down? For Real?

 Lower Net Income for the first quarter of this year compared to ABS CBN's , lower ratings, lesser advertiers-- are these the signs that GMA7, the Kapuso Network is going down? Tsk3x.

ABS-CBN'S NET INCOME HIGHER THAN GMA-7!!

For the first time after almost a decade, ABS-CBN's net income registered better than rival GMA Network for the first quarter of the year. ABS-CBN edged out its rival in profit making by more than P250M driven by better regular/recurring advertisements and Political advertiements. It increased its bottomline by almost 500% or almost six times from previous year while GMA Network only managed to accumulate a 74% increase. ABS-CBN netted P1.11 billion this year from just more than P150 million earned last year, whereas GMA Network got P855 million,P355 million better than P500 million earned the same period last year.

ABS-CBN was ahead of the competition in all business units including its core business operating channel 2. Its core Airtime Revenue stood P5.06 billion, P1.44 billion higher than the combined income of all GMA's business units (channel 7, QTV, GPTV, GLTV, Radio, etc) which totaled P3.63 billion. Even  without political Ads ABS-CBN still posted a 45% increase in gross revenue while rival GMA Network will eventually incurr a slight decrease due to lower recurring Advertising Revenues. EBITDA for both firms showed a healthy growth with an 80% increase for ABS-CBN and 57% for GMA Network impacted by overwhelmng Political Advertisements, but channel 2 will still grow by 36% even without Non-recurring Political Advertisements.

Wow naman!! Grabe ang itinaas ng ABS CBN. Imagine? 500%, which is very unusual. Kadalasan kasi, pag naglalabasan na ng Net Income ang dalawang networks ay palaging mas mataas ang net income ng GMA 7. Anong ibig sabihin nito?

For the past few years, naging balwarte ng  GMA7 ang Mega Manila. Palaging mas mataas at nangunguna sila sa ratings- umaga man, gabi at maging weekends, mapa AGB Nielsen man o TNS Mega Manila Ratings. Pero nag-iba na yata ang ihip ng panahon. Palagi na ngayong nangunguna ang ABS- Showtime ang leader sa umaga at Agua Bendita naman pag gabi. Halos walang binatbat sa ratings ang mga katapat nitong mga programa. With the success of ABS CBN in Mega Manila, safe na ba na tawaging Kapamilya Land na ang Mega Manila?

Napansin niyo ba ang biglaang pagdami ng mga commercials sa lahat ng shows ng ABS CBN? Datu, halos di mo mapansin na nagcommercial na pala- kasi sobrang kunti lang talaga, pero ngayon, ang dami na talaga. Maybe, this will explain kung bakit mas malaki ang net income ngayon ng ABS CBN. Does it means na mas pinagkakatiwalaan na ngayong ng mga advertisers ang ABS CBN compared to GMA 7.

Hope na maging wake up call ito (ang mababang net income) sa kampo ng GMA 7. Sana ay magawan na nila ito ng paraan, bago pa maging huli ang lahat.

Charice, No. 8 on Billboard Top 200

Charice Pempengco's first international self-titled album debuted in Billboard's Top 200 Albums in number 8!!

According to 143/Reprise Records, Charice's album has sold-out 42,985 copies, giving her the eight spot of Billboards Hot 200. With her 4th appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show the day of release, followed by a half hour performance that evening on QVC, Charice has clearly captured the hearts of Americans of all ages--and Canada as well, where her CD debuted at No. 4.

"Pyramid," the first single (performed with Iyaz) was No. 1 last week on the Billboard Dance Charts and is currently being played on over 100 radio stations. Sales of "Pyramid" have jumped 384% the week of the CD's release. The YouTube phenom's viral video of "Pyramid" has received well over six million views. ABS CBN's 'Tanging Yaman' and 'Super Inggo' had ended their run last Friday. Magsisimula na rin ngayong lunes, only in the Kapamaliya Network, ang MOMAY at Simply KC.

Xyriel Anne Manabat, known as the Agua Bendita kid, will star the upcoming multoserye of ABS CBN, MOMAY.

The story revolves around Momay, a little girl, who met an accident that caused her to be in a coma. She was euthanized after it was deemed that she only relies on life support machines for her existence, resulting in her ghostly persona.

Together with Xyriel are Ms. Lorna Tolentino, Ejay Falcon and more. Momay will star airing this coming Monday, before TV Patrol.

A Sad 15th Birthday Celebration of Tricia Santos

Two housemates celebrated their birthdays this week-- Tricia and Devon. Tricia Santos, the Athletic Muse of Davao turned 15 last May 18, while Devon turned 17 last May 20, 2010.

Big Brother decided to celebrate their birthdays in the same day- last May 19, 2010. Here's the big twist-- their parties were held in different venues. Tricia's Masquerade-themed party was held at the Villa house, while Devon's COSPLAY- themed party was held at the Apartment House.


Ang masamang balita, kailangan mamili ng mga housemates kung kaninong party sila dadalo, kay Tricia o kay Devon.

Lima lang pumunta sa party ni Tricia- si James, Ann Li, Richard, Jenny and Jack, while the other teenternationals went to Devon's party kasi akala nila na marami ang dadalo sa bithday ni Tricia, which is mali pala. Lahat ng mga kasama ni Tricia sa Villa ay sa party ni Devon dumalo. Kahit papano'y pinasaya din naman ng limang teenternationals si Tricia!!

I Hate Big Brother!! Alam naman niya siguro na ganito ang mangyayari, na kunti lang ang dadalo sa birthday ni Tricia. Tsk3x.. Hello!!! Birthday ng dalawang tao. Anong gusto niya? Na may isang malulungkot sa kanyang kaarawan? Sabagay, may maganda din namang maidudulot ang ginawa niya. Through those parties, nalaman ng dalawang bata, lalo na ni Tricia, kung sino ang kanilang totoong mga kaibigan.

This week has been a very though week for Tricia. Aside from being nominated again, dumagdag pa yong mga tsismis about sa kanya,  at itong birthday celebration. Grabe!! Bugbog-sarado ang bata sa linggong ito. Ewan ko lang ha, ganun naba talaga kasama si Tricia to deserve all of those? Di naman siguro ahh.. She may be a brat, a flirt or whatever those things that the Tricia haters are telling about her, gayun pa man-- she still doesn't deserve all of those things. Ang bata pa niya, parang di pa dapat nangyari sa kanya ang mga ito. Tsk3x..

What I like about her? --- She's very strong. Isa siyang tao na dapat tularan, Sa kabila ng lahat ng mga pangungutya na naranasan niya ay di parin siya sumoko. Sa kabila ng mga kaliwa't kanang paninira sa kanya ay naging matibay parin siya. Kahit na kuonti lang dumalo sa birthday niya ay kering-keri parin niya.. Inenjoy parin niya ang paty niya..

Isa siyang tao na di nagtatanim ng galit sa ibang tao. Gaya ng nangyari sa birthday niya, nagawa pa niyang di kainin ang cake kasi gusto niyang ibahagi ito sa iba niyang co-housemates, sa mga ibang housemates na naging ubod ng traydor at plastik sa kanya. Kung tayo daw ang nasa kalagayan niya, magagawa kaya natin ang mga ginawa niya? Yong agad-agad na kalimutan nalang ang lahat? Na pagkatapos ng lahat ng nangyari ay ganun parin ang pakikitungo niya sa lahat ng tao.. Well, dapat talaga siyang tularan!!

She said that after her birthday, she can go if people would wish her to go. That's how much of a big wish this birthday celebration is for her. She is not even aiming to be the big winner. Despite having all the mirrors inside PBB house, her Villa housemates failed to see their own flaws, because they got too much air in their heads thinking too big about themselves, and even consider themselves as Big Winner material.

Ngayon na 15 na si Tricia, sana ay di siya magbago. Ipagpatuloy sana niya ang pagiging totoong-tao niya. Happy Birthday Tricia!!!

'Endless Love' Latest Teaser

The Kapuso Network has released the teaser of the upcoming Philippine adaptation of the koreanovela Endless Love, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

PLOT
Johnny(Dingdong Dantes) and Jenny(Marian Rivera) grew up as siblings. Little did they know, that Jenny came from a different family as there was a mixed up at the hospital where she was born. The switch came to light when Jenny was involved in a car accident and it was discovered that her blood type was different from her parents. Jenny's life took a complete turn when the two girls were returned to their respective families. After what happened, Johnny's family decided to go to America, and Jenny was left living in a sordid condition with her real family in Philippines. Years after, Johnny returned to the country and by chance the two former siblings were reunited.

Kristofer Dangculos is playing the role of young Johnny while Kathryn Bernardo as young Jenny. Endless Love also stars Bella Padilla, Nadine Samonte and Dennis Trillo as the charming Andrew. Included in the cast are Tirso Cruz III, Kuh Ledesma, Sandy Andolong, Janna Dominguez, Marc Acueza, Gabby Eigenmann, Ces Quesada, and Janice de Belen.

Endless Love is set to premieres this coming June 30, 2010 and is directed by Mac Alejandre.

For the First Time, 'Party Pilipinas' Beats 'ASAP XV' in Mega Manila

After six weeks of airing, GMA's 'Party Pilipinas' has finally beaten ABS CBN's 'ASAP XV'. Simula na kaya ito ng pamamayagpag ng Party Pilipinas?

Party Pilipinas, who debuted last March 28, registered a rating of 12.3% against ASAP XV's 11.4%. OO, first time ito ng ASAP XV na natalo ng Party Pilipinas.
