MMFF 2010 Official Entries

Yesterday at the Club Filipino, the MMFF Selection Committee has already announced the the official entries for the upcoming Metro manila Film Festival this coming December 2010.
Here are the list of films that made it to said list.
The criteria for the selection of the 8th official entries are story, creativity, wrting excellence, innovation and thematic value with an equivalent of 40%. It must also have a commercial viability with an equivalent of 50% and with a Filipino cultural and/or historial value in an equivalent of 10%, with an overall total of 100%
Well, the entries are exciting, aren't they?

'Hating Kapatid' Full Trailer Released

Viva Films has finally released the Full Trailer of 'Hating Kapatid', Sarah Geronimo and Judy Santos' first movie team-up.
PLOT
In this dramedy, Judy Ann stars as Maria Rica and Sarah is Maria Cecilia, daughters of public school teachers turned OFW. Left in the care of their Lola Gerty (Gina Pareño), Rica and Cecilia grow up in Bocaue, Bulacan, where they help look after the family’s firecracker business. The two girls are inseparable. Rica takes her role as the big sister seriously, to the point of breaking up with her boyfriend, Bong (JC DeVera), and vowing to devote her life taking care of Cecil when the latter is hurt in a minor accident.
Ten years come to pass and their parents return home. The family moves to Manila. Rica, though an Accounting Major graduate, chooses to sell jewelry instead of getting a professional job. Cecil, on the other hand, works as a sales clerk in a video store and a promodizer of magic sing. She meets Edsel (Luis Manzano), an insurance sales agent. Rica, sensing that the two are attracted to each other tries hard to keep them apart. Cecil, wanting to make Rica happy, tracks down Bong, but the result is the exact opposite. James Reid, tha Dashing Dude of Australia, was proclaimed as the 'Big Winner' of the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010, last Saturday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
James bested out the five other housemates with a vote percentage of 19.75.

'California Gurls' Music Video - Yummy!

Katy Perry has released the official music video of her latest single - 'California Gurls'. And too much different from everybody's expectation, the video has a 'CandyLand' theme.
When I think of Katy's 'California Gurls', I think of how wild the California girls are, how they party, and how hot they are. But in her video, there was none of these things. The video shows Katy's childhood imaginations, nothing in this video screams about California.
Honestly, I'm very much disappointed with her music video. Her song was supposed to be CA's anthem- but instead of seeing more about the great state, Katy decides to highlight candy and her breasts. LOL. I was expecting for some golden coast, sunk-kissed skin, and "dasiy-dukes bikini's on top"- like what the song says. I was expecting a wild music video, not a AliceinWonderland-like one.
Although I'm disappointed, I still find this video as 'Yummy' - maybe beacause of those candies.

'Endless Love', Hope for GMA's dying Telebabad?
'Endless Love', top-billed by Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, will premiere this coming Monday, June 28, in the Telebabad block of the Kapuso Network. If I'm not mistaken, this will occupy the timeslot of The Last Prince, which will end tomorrow.

Johnny(Dingdong Dantes) and Jenny(Marian Rivera) grew up as siblings. Little did they know, that Jenny came from a different family as there was a mixed up at the hospital where she was born. The switch came to light when Jenny was involved in a car accident and it was discovered that her blood type was different from her parents. Jenny's life took a complete turn when the two girls were returned to their respective families. After what happened, Johnny's family decided to go to America, and Jenny was left living in a sordid condition with her real family in Philippines. Years after, Johnny returned to the country and by chance the two former siblings were reunited.
Kristofer Dangculos is playing the role of young Johnny while Kathryn Bernardo as young Jenny. Endless Love also stars Bella Padilla, Nadine Samonte and Dennis Trillo as the charming Andrew. ABS CBN recently released the full trailer of 'Noah', Piolo Pascual and Zaijan Zaranilla's comeback project in primetime and the teaser of 'Imortal', John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin's most-awaited project.
Noah'plot revolves around a father and son who were separated by accident. The adventure of the father who is looking for his son and the how his son survives before they finally meet in a reality and fantasy world.

Last month, 'Charice Pempengco' denied the rumors that she will be part of Fox's multi-awarded musical comedy-drama, entitled 'Glee'. But now, it's official!! Charice will be part of 'Glee'!
Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly first reported that 'Charice Pempengco' will finally join the second season of Glee. Charice will play as a foreign exchange student that will opposite Rachel (Lea Michele).
Well, I'm very happy upon hearing this news. Honestly, im a fan of Glee and of Charice. Seeing Charice on Glee? That's so awesome!!

The much-awaited team up in a television series of two of the best actresses in the Philippine Television, Bea Alonzo and Gretchen Baretto will hit Philippine Televisions this coming June 28 via Primetimebida block of ABS CBN.
'Magkaribal' is a story about two sisters who stumble upon each other and became worst enemies.

After hosting the very successful 'Pilipinas Got Talent' , the strong tandem of Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford will be back again on TV via ABS CBN's newest trivia game show entitled "Panahon Ko 'To, Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko!"
What's interesting with this new game show is that it's an original filipino-made game show created by the creative minds of ABS CBN.

'Jovit Baldivino' - Firts Pilipinas Got Talent Grand Winner

Jovit Baldivino, a 16-year-old singer from Batangas, was declared as the first Grand Winner of ABS CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent, last June 13, 2010.
Jovit was declared as PGT's Grand Winner,last night at the Araneta Coliseum. Jovit bested the 12 other contestants of the said show with 48.81% of the total votes.
Here's the break-down of votes.
1. Jovit Baldivino – 48.81%
2-3. Baguio Metamorphosis / Velasco Brothers(15.39%, 7.27%)
4. Ingrid Payaket – 5.87%
5. Ezra Band – 5.46%
6. Ruther Urquia – 4.45%
7. Alakim – 2.94%
8. Keith Clark Delleva – 2.32%
9. Sherwin Baguion – 2.15%
10. Luntayao Family – 2.07%
11. Maria Jeline Oliva – 2.07%
12. Markki Stroem – 1.20%
Jovit took home 2 Million Pesos. Baguio Metamorphosis and Velasco Brothers, who both made it to the top 3- got 100,000 pesos while the remaining 9 contestants got 50,000 pesos each.

ABS CBN released theirt Rainy Station ID for 2010 last July 11, 2010, few minutes after TV Patrol. As usual, ABS CBN met our expectation. It was great.
ABS CBN's Rainy Station ID also celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Philippine Soap Opera. This SID features the biggest teleserye stars of the Kapamilya Network.

Tricia Santos, Ginamit ng PBB?
Tricia Santos, the Athletic Muse of Davao, is the latest evictee of the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010.
Matapos nang ilang linggo na pagkaligtas ni Tricia Santos sa mga Eviction Nights, ay natanggal na rin si Tricia. Ang rason? BBE Votes.
Hindi naman sa bias ako, one-sided ako, o dahil sa maka-Tricia ako, pero I think it's very unfair for the part of Tricia. Para bang ginamit lang siya ng PBB para kumita ng mas malaking pera.
Hindi naman natin maipagkakaila na si Tricia Santos lang ang naging 'center of attention' ng season na ito ng PBB. I dont think na magiging exciting ang PBB Teen Clash kung wala si Tricia. You can't blame me for saying so- walang kwenta ang ibang housemates. Alam mo yong salitang "wallflower"? parang ganun lang sila. Para bang inilagay lamang sila para magiging kompleto ang mga housemates. Magatatapos nalang ang PBB pero di parin sila nakikilala.

Remember the Clashing Birthdays?, the Histrionic thing? and etc. At ngayon na malapit nang magtatapos ang PBB, itsapwera nalang ang dalaga. Parang naging purpose pa tuloy ng BBE ay para matanggal lang si Tricia. At ang pinakamasakit pa nito ay isang beses lang pala gagamitin ang BBE, para lang pala kay Tricia. Para di naging issue ito, sana sa simula palang ay may BBE votes na sana.. Parang ang daya kasi ehh!! Isang beses lang talagang ginamit.
Sa lahat ng mga housemates, kay Tricia lang siguro nakakuha ng napakaraming boto ang PBB, whether BB, BBS o BBE Votes man ito. Take a look at these.

Well, mabuti na rin siguro na lumabas na si Tricia, at least ngayon- malayo na siya sa mga taong naging ubod ng plastik sa kanya. Malayo na siya sa mga paninira nila. At least ngayon, kapiling na niya ang mga taong tunay na nagmamahal sa kanya.
Di naman niya siguro kawalan ang pagkaEvict sa bahay ni kuya. Hindi man siya umabot sa Big Night, I know na malaki ang lugar niya sa Showbiz.

'PBB Big Goal Concert', a Success
Last night, July 10, 2010, the PBB housemates staged their very first concert for a cause - the 'Big Goal Concert,.
The Big goal concert is a fund-raising concert in where the remaining housemates of PBB Teen clash of 2010 showcased their different talents in order to help the Philippine delegates for the Homeless World Cup that will be held in Brazil.

Isa sa ipinagmamalaki ng movie na to, na produced by Viva Films in partnership with ABS CBN's Star Cinema, ay ang bigatin nitong casting. Together with Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo are Luis Manzano, Ms. Gina Pareño, Ms. Cherry Pie Picache, JC de Vera, Vice Ganda and DJ Durano.
PLOT
In this comedy, Judy Ann stars as Maria Rica and Sarah is Maria Cecilia, daughters of public school teachers turned OFW. Left in the care of their Lola Gerty (Gina Pareño), Rica and Cecilia grow up in Bocaue, Bulacan, where they help look after the family’s firecracker business. The two girls are inseparable. Rica takes her role as the big sister seriously, to the point of breaking up with her boyfriend, Bong (JC DeVera), and vowing to devote her life taking care of Cecil when the latter is hurt in a minor accident.
Ten years come to pass and their parents return home. The family moves to Manila. Rica, though an Accounting Major graduate, chooses to sell jewelry instead of getting a professional job. Cecil, on the other hand, works as a sales clerk in a video store and a promodizer of magic sing. She meets Edsel (Luis Manzano), an insurance sales agent. Rica, sensing that the two are attracted to each other tries hard to keep them apart. Cecil, wanting to make Rica happy, tracks down Bong, but the result is the exact opposite. Rica feels betrayed, especially when she learns that her baby sister is already in a relationship. She ups and leaves. Now it’s Cecil who has to find a way to fix this. Dito masusubukan kung gaano kalakas ang hatak ni Sarah sa mga moviegoers. Sa tingin ninyo, maging kasing successful din kaya ito ng kanyang naunang mga movies?? Panonoorin niyo ba ang movie na to?

Dizz Iz It, Di Pa Ba Titigbakin??

Dizz Iz It, GMA7's answer to ABS CBN's Showtime has been airing now for more or less than four months. Since it started airing, niisang beses ay di pa nitong nagawang naungusan sa ratings ang katapat nitong show. Balak pa kayang patagalin ng GMA ang showng ito?
Noong first week ng show na toh, medyo dikit pa ang ratings nito sa katapat na show, pero habang tumatagal ay lalong lumalaki ang lamang ng Showtime. At present, Showtime is now a mile away from Dizz iz It.
Kadalasang ginagawa ng GMA noon, pag di nagHit ang isang show ay paabutin muna ng tatlong buwan bago tigbakin- pero iba ito. Mahigit tatlong buwan na, pero so far, wala paring balita kung meron bang bagong show na ipalit nito. Well, it's a good news for the men behind this show. They still have some chance to improve their performance. So far, unti-unti namang umaayos na ang daloy ng programang ito. Unlike before, kumunti na ang flaws ng show at naging 'lively' narin ang show.
Samantala, patuloy parin sa pag-arangkada ngayon ng Showtime, sa ratings man, sa dami ng advertisers at iba pa. Sa ilang buwan na nitong pananatili ay parang di parin nagsasawa ang mga tao sa panonood nito. Actually, malapit na ang First Grand Finals ng showtime. We heard na gaganapin ito sa Araneta Coliseum. So far, wala pang balita kung susundan ba ito kaagad ng second season o magpapahinga muna ng bahagya ang show. One thing that we're sure of- kung sakaling magpapahinga man ang Showtime, tiyak na mamimiss ito ng marami nitong mga tagahanga.
